Isko Moreno, one of the three mayors that became cover for Esquire Philippines, July 2019.

This particular shot was taken in between layouts. We had just finished shooting a couple of indoor shots when we were walking up a spiral staircase to the roof deck/tennis court of Diamond Hotel. As we were walking up, Mayor Isko was ahead of me and I noticed this little spot as he passed it. The full crew got settled at the court and I asked the kind mayor if we could head back to that one spot. 

The main shadow over his face came from the wall in front of him; luckily the sun was at the right angle. I was standing a few steps below and he had both arms resting on the railing on either side. I had it in my mind to replicate what I had seen earlier for a split second, but the shot came out way better because the Mayor had the space and time to understand what I was trying to capture.
